Adge Cutler and Wurzel Releases NOW Available!

It
has taken several years of difficult planning and hard negotiating
by Sil Willcox of Cruisin’ Music, close friend and manager
of The Wurzels, for this month’s news to be unveiled!
Although EMI produced Adge Cutler’s third album in CD
format back in 2003 they showed no signs of intending to repeat
this with anything else from the Wurzel back-catalogue; Sil,
together with the Wurzels themselves, was keen to see that more
of the band’s work was reproduced in this modern format!
November 27th 2009 saw the release for the first time on CD
of four of Adge Cutler’s original albums and the Wurzels
first solo album, making them all available as an exclusively
licenced re-release with the original artwork and digitally
re-mastered.
Having obtained the copies of the original artwork Sil Willcox
entrusted the task of digitally re-mastering the original vinyl
LPs to Louie Nicastro: After many long sessions Louie produced
a superb set of 5 CDs to allow Wurzel fans to be able to hear
these iconic albums in high quality sound without the need for
a record player! – much to the delight of many young fans
who had never been able to hear these songs and the older fans
who lost their ability to play old vinyls!
The
historic albums that have now been re-released are:

Adge
Cutler and the Wurzels – Live At The Royal Oake
– this was the band's debut album recorded ‘live’
at the Royal Oak in Nailsea in November 1966 and released early
in 1967.
Adge
Cutler’s Family Album With The Wurzels –
the band’s follow up album, again recorded ‘live’
at the Royal Oak, and released late in 1967
Carry
On Cutler – Adge’s fourth album, again
a ‘live’ recording, mainly taken from a show performed
in Somerset’s Webbington Country Club, and was issued in
1968.
Don’t
Tell I, Tell ‘Ee – Adge’s final album,
‘live’ tracks once again and first issued in 1972
but re-released on his death two years later.
The
Wurzels Are Scrumptious – the Wurzels first solo
album released in 1975, a year after Adge’s death. This
album was taken from a live show that the group performed at
a North Devon holiday park at Croyde Bay.
In keeping with ‘the modern idiom’, to quote Adge,
the albums are on sale from the Wurzels own Ebay shop to allow
the fans to buy the genuine article directly from the band for
only £8.99 (and postage is free) - and for those who buy
any 3CDs they are given a free copy of Mervyn Hancocks ‘Wurzels
World’ (normally retailing at £9.99 and which is
also on sale at the same ebay shop).
